LIBOUS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation -- commit- tee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recom- mitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Trooper Christopher G. Skinner Memo- rial Bridge" THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-d to 2 read as follows: 3 S 344-D. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNATED AS THE 4 "TROOPER CHRISTOPHER G. SKINNER MEMORIAL BRIDGE". THE NORTHBOUND AND 5 SOUTHBOUND BRIDGES ON INTERSTATE ROUTE EIGHTY-ONE CROSSING US ROUTE 6 ELEVEN AT EXIT SEVEN, IN THE TOWN OF CHENANGO, IN THE COUNTY OF BROOME, 7 SHALL EACH BE DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS THE "TROOPER CHRISTOPHER G. SKIN- 8 NER MEMORIAL BRIDGE". 9 S 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 10 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 11 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 12 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 13 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 14 ceremonial nature and the official names of such bridges shall not be 15 changed as a result of this act. 16 S 3.
