        Introduced  by Sen. GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government

        AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to  allowing  for
          the taxation of state property for schools

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 536 of the real property  tax  law
     2  is amended by adding a new paragraph (h) to read as follows:
     3    (h)  Lands  owned  by the state for use as correctional facilities, as
     4  such term is defined pursuant to paragraph (a) of  subdivision  four  of
     5  section two of the correction law, exclusive of the improvements erected
     6  thereon by the state, situate in the following school districts:
     7    (i) Alden central school district in Erie county;
     8    (ii) Gowanda central school district in Erie county; and
     9    (iii) Attica central school district in Wyoming county.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
