        Introduced  by Sen. CARLUCCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction  and
          Community Development
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public  housing law, in relation to income from
          employment of children
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Paragraph a of subdivision 1 of section 156 of the public
     2  housing law, as amended by chapter 21 of the laws of 1982, is amended to
     3  read as follows:
     4    a. for persons or families of  low  income  whose  probable  aggregate
     5  annual  income  during the period of occupancy does not exceed six times
     6  the rental (including the value or cost to them of  heat,  light,  water
     7  and cooking fuel) of the dwellings to be furnished such persons or fami-
     8  lies,  except  that in the case of persons or families with four or more
     9  dependents, such ratio shall not exceed seven  to  one;  in  calculating
    10  annual income, social security payments and income received from pension
    11  funds  by any person sixty-two years of age or more shall be excluded up
    12  to a total maximum amount of seventy-five dollars per month; income from
    13  employment of children, including foster  children,  under  the  age  of
    14  eighteen  years and income from each full-time student eighteen years of
    15  age or older, excluding the head of household  and  spouse,  earning  in
    16  excess  of  four  hundred  eighty dollars per month shall be excluded in
    17  calculating household income;
    18    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
