        Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections

        AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to prohibiting  boards  of
          elections from entering into certain contracts with entities that have
          made  any  political  campaign donations of any amount in the last ten
          years

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Section  3-100 of the election law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 4-a to read as follows:
     3    4-a. Except where expressly permitted  by  law,  the  state  board  of
     4  elections  shall  not  enter  into  any  contract  or agreement with any
     5  person, firm, corporation, or other entity, that has made any  political
     6  campaign donations of any amount in the last ten years, for the prepara-
     7  tion,  design, printing, mailing, distribution, delivery, processing, or
     8  counting of  ballots,  affidavits,  petitions,  applications,  or  other
     9  papers  and  materials  involved  in  the  conduct  of elections and the
    10  canvass of results under this chapter.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
