        AN ACT to amend the  environmental  conservation  law,  in  relation  to
          guidelines  for  best practices in treating residential properties for
          integrated pest management
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Section  33-0303 of the environmental conservation law is
     2  amended by adding a new subdivision 8 to read as follows:
     3    8. The commissioner shall develop guidelines  for  best  practices  in
     4  treating residential properties for integrated pest management to assist
     5  in  the  prevention  of  ticks that contribute to tick-borne infections.
     6  Such guidelines shall include but not be limited to the use of landscape
     7  techniques, methods to discourage rodent activity and  effective  pesti-
     8  cide applications. The guidelines shall be available on the department's
     9  website  and  shall  be  reviewed and revised annually with current best
    10  practices.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    12  have become a law.
