Senate Resolution No. 639

        CONGRATULATING Brett T. Bosse upon the occasion of
        receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
        most  prestigious  of  Scouting honors, on March 23,
        2019

  WHEREAS, Brett T. Bosse, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle  Scout;
the  Eagle  Court  of Honor ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 23,
2019, at Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, Manhasset, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Immediately  attracted  to  the  camaraderie  and  outdoor
experiences  Scouting  has to offer Brett T. Bosse crossed over to Troop
71 after a productive Cub Scout career, earning the Arrow of Light  when
he  was  11  years  old;  during his Scouting career he served as Patrol
Leader,  Assistant  Patrol  Leader,  Instructor,  and   two   terms   as
Quartermaster; and

  WHEREAS, While attending many summer and high adventure camps, Brett
T.    Bosse  earned  32  merit  badges  and  successfully  completed the
requirements for  Snorkeling,  Junior  Leadership  Orientation  Workshop
training, World Conservation and the Catholic Ad Altare Dei Award; and

  WHEREAS,  With  a  true  passion  for rowing, Brett T. Bosse has won
multiple Rower of the Year and Leadership Awards at Port Rowing, as well
as four Long Island Championships; he has also won two  New  York  State
High School Championships; and

  WHEREAS,  At the national level, Brett T. Bosse has had much success
as a member of the United States Junior National  Team  System,  winning
two National Team Championships, as well as a Bronze Medal; and

  WHEREAS, Most recently, in December 2018, Brett T. Bosse was invited
to participate in the United States Rowing's Youth Regional Challenge in
Sarasota,  Florida,  recognizing  him  as  one  of the top rowers in the
Northeast, he earned a Silver Medal,  missing  gold  by  less  than  one
second; and

  WHEREAS,  A  student  at St. Mary's High School, Brett T. Bosse is a
member of the National Honor Society, Spanish  National  Honor  Society,
Scholar  Service Institute and Finance Club; he also works at St. Mary's
Church; and

  WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory  through
the  dedication,  determination  and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and

  WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and

  WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated  to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and

  WHEREAS,  The  highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Boy Scouts,  is  the  distinguished
rank of Eagle Scout; and

  WHEREAS,  This  outstanding  young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has  attained  all
of  the  necessary  achievements,  including  completion  of a community
service project, which was successfully planned, developed and executed;
and

  WHEREAS, For his project, Brett T. Bosse  designed,  planned,  built
and  installed  a 132-unit cubby storage system for use by the rowers at
Port Rowing's fast growing program; and

  WHEREAS, His dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens
of Manhasset is represented through his  project  and  demonstrates  his
devotion to both community and commitment to others; and

  WHEREAS,  As  he goes forward in his academic career, Brett T. Bosse
plans to continue rowing in college, while  continuing  the  ideals  and
principles of the Boy Scouts; and

  WHEREAS,  Brett  T. Bosse's perseverance in rising through the ranks
to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master difficult
tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a  leader,  fully
equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and

  WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance  of  this  meritorious  achievement,  to
congratulate  and  honor  Brett  T. Bosse on achieving the rank of Eagle
Scout; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Brett T. Bosse.
