STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 10292 IN ASSEMBLY May 13, 2022 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. K. Brown) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring all commer- cial buildings be retrofitted with motion detectors for controlling lighting The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 378 of the executive law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 20 to read as follows: 3 20. Standards requiring that all commercial buildings exclusively use 4 motion detectors for controlling lighting. All commercial buildings 5 shall complete any retrofitting required to meet such standards on or 6 before the effective date of this subdivision. 7 § 2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a 8 law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any 9 rule or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on its 10 effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such 11 effective date.
