       AN  ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in
         relation to requiring an adequate supply of state park police officers
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Subdivision 5 of section 3.09 of the parks, recreation and
    2  historic preservation law is amended to read as follows:
    3    5. Provide for the health, safety and  welfare  of  the  public  using
    4  facilities  under  its  jurisdiction,  WHICH  SHALL  INCLUDE ENSURING AN
    5  ADEQUATE SUPPLY OF STATE PARK  POLICE  OFFICERS  BASED  ON  THE  ROLLING
    6  ATTENDANCE  AT  STATE  PARKS, BEACHES AND HISTORIC   SITES OVER THE MOST
    7  RECENT FIVE YEAR PERIOD.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
