       AN  ACT  to  amend the real property tax law, in relation to authorizing
         firefighters and ambulance workers who reside in one town  but  volun-
         teer  their services in another town to take advantage of certain real
         property tax exemptions
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 2 of section 466-c of the real
    2  property  tax  law,  as  amended  by  chapter  9 of the laws of 2004, is
    3  amended to read as follows:
    4    (a) the applicant resides in [the] A town WITHIN THE COUNTY  which  is
    5  served by such incorporated volunteer fire company or fire department or
    6  incorporated voluntary ambulance service;
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
