       AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public service law, in relation to electric car
         charging stations
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Section 5 of the public service law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 7 to read as follows:
    3    7. A PERSON OR CORPORATION OWNING, LEASING  OR  OPERATING  A  FACILITY
    4  THAT SUPPLIES ELECTRICITY TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF CHARGING
    5  PLUG-IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES IS NOT SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CHAP-
    6  TER  AS  AN ELECTRIC CORPORATION SOLELY BECAUSE OF SUCH OWNERSHIP, LEASE
    7  OR OPERATION.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
