STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7625--A 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY May 19, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WOERNER -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation -- recommitted to the Committee on Transporta- tion in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system in the city of Saratoga Springs as the "Marylou Whitney Way" The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-n to 2 read as follows: 3 § 344-n. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the 4 "Marylou Whitney Way". All that portion of the state highway system 5 constituting state route nine-p between I-87 and East Avenue in the city 6 of Saratoga Springs, county of Saratoga, shall be designated and known 7 as the "Marylou Whitney Way". 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 11 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 12 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 13 ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be 14 changed as a result of this act. 15 § 3.
