STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7487 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY April 27, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. PHEFFER AMATO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation AN ACT to authorize Bnos Bais Yaakov to file an application for exemption from real property taxes The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, 2 the commissioner of the New York city department of finance is hereby 3 authorized to accept from Bnos Bais Yaakov an application for exemption 4 from real property taxes pursuant to section 420-a of the real property 5 tax law for the 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 6 assessment rolls, for the parcels owned by Bnos Bais Yaakov in the city 7 of New York, borough of Queens, designated as block 15585, lots 11 and 8 16 in such borough. If accepted, the application shall be reviewed as if 9 it had been received on or before the taxable status date established 10 for such assessment rolls. 11 If satisfied that Bnos Bais Yaakov would otherwise be entitled to such 12 exemption if it had filed an application for exemption by the appropri- 13 ate taxable status date, the commissioner of the New York city depart- 14 ment of finance, upon approval by the city council of the city of New 15 York, may grant exemption from all taxation with respect to the subject 16 tax rolls due and owing by Bnos Bais Yaakov on the effective date of 17 this act and cancel taxes, fines, penalties and interest remaining 18 unpaid, and make appropriate correction of the subject assessment rolls. 19 § 2.
