CROUCH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to authorize a certain individual to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the village of Oxford, county of Chenango THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law, or any other law to the contrary, Ronald Martin, who has 3 been continuously employed by the villages of Greene and Oxford, in the 4 county of Chenango, as a part-time patrolman, shall be eligible to take 5 the competitive civil service examination for the position of police 6 officer and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be 7 eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full- 8 time patrolman for the village of Oxford. 9 S 2. Ronald Martin shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness 10 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi- 11 cers. 12 S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
