       AN ACT to amend the election law, in  relation  to  requiring  that  all
         printed  political  campaign  mailing  pieces  include a message about
         recycling the printed materials
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  The election law is amended by adding a new section 3-111
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 3-111. RECYCLING OF CAMPAIGN AND POLITICAL LITERATURE.    ALL  POLI-
    4  TICAL LITERATURE IN NEW YORK STATE, WHETHER HAND-BILLED OR MAILED, SHALL
    5  HAVE AFFIXED TO IT, THE RECYCLING LOGO SIGNIFIED BY THREE CHASING ARROWS
    6  IN  A TRIANGULAR CONFIGURATION, AND THE FOLLOWING PRINTED MESSAGE: "THIS
    7  MATERIAL IS RECYCLABLE.  PLEASE PROPERLY RECYCLE AFTER USE."
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
