MORELLE, REILICH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to authorizing the department of criminal justice services to create a publication relat- ing to concealed firearms THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 837 of the executive law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 19 to read as follows: 3 19. PROMULGATE, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STATE 4 POLICE, A STANDARDIZED PUBLICATION OF GENERAL INFORMATION DEFINING THE 5 TERM "CONCEALED" AND ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES ON WHERE AND WHEN A 6 CONCEALED FIREARM MAY NOT BE CARRIED PURSUANT TO ANY APPLICABLE STATE OR 7 FEDERAL LAW, RULE OR REGULATION. SUCH PUBLICATION SHALL BE PROVIDED TO 8 COUNTY LICENSING OFFICERS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO ANY PERSON RECEIVING A 9 CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT AND UPON THE REQUEST OF ANY PERSON WHO POSSESSES 10 SUCH PERMIT PURSUANT TO SECTION 400.00 OF THE PENAL LAW. 11 S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after 12 it shall have become a law; provided, however that effective immediate- 13 ly, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation 14 necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are 15 authorized and directed to be made and completed on or before such 16 effective date.
