SANTABARBARA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to amend the civil service law, in relation to access to mental health care services for emergency dispatchers The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The civil service law is amended by adding a new section 2 155 to read as follows: 3 § 155. Access to mental health care for certain employees. No collec- 4 tive bargaining agreement or employment contract entered into by a muni- 5 cipality and an employee or an employee organization representing emer- 6 gency dispatchers employed by such municipality shall require that an 7 emergency dispatcher obtain approval from, or provide notice to, a 8 supervisor to access mental or behavioral health care services. No 9 mental or behavioral health care services requested or received by an 10 emergency dispatcher shall be disclosed to a municipal employer. 11 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
