MILLER, SILLITTI, STERN, JACKSON, OTIS, PERRY, JACOBSON, MORINELLO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Labor -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee -- ordered to a third reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining its place on the order of third reading AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to requiring employers to display a poster containing information on veterans' benefits and services which shall be created and distributed by the department of labor The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 201-h to 2 read as follows: 3 § 201-h. Posting of veterans' benefits and services. 1. The department 4 shall consult with the division of veterans' services to create and 5 distribute a veterans' benefits and services poster. 6 2. Such poster shall, at a minimum, include information regarding the 7 following services available to veterans: 8 a. contact and website information for the division of veterans' 9 services and the department's veterans' program; 10 b. substance abuse and mental health treatment; 11 c. educational, workforce, and training resources; 12 d. tax benefits; 13 e. New York state veteran drivers' licenses and non-driver identifica- 14 tion cards; 15 f. eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state and/or 16 federal law; 17 g. legal services; and EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. Every employer in the state with more than fifty full-time equiv- 4 alent employees shall display the poster created pursuant to this 5 section in a conspicuous place accessible to employees in the workplace. 6 § 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 2023. Effective immediate- 7 ly, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation 8 necessary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are 9 authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
