        AN  ACT  to  amend  the village law, in relation to authorizing absentee
          ballots in an election to incorporate a village
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  2  of  section  2-220  of the village law is
     2  amended to read as follows:
     3    2. Manner of voting. a. Voting may  be  either  in  person  by  voting
     4  machine or by paper ballots, or by absentee ballot. Paper ballots may be
     5  written  or  printed  and shall be consecutively numbered. Ballots shall
     6  contain the words "for incorporation" and "against incorporation".
     7    b. Ballots for absentee voters shall be, as nearly as practicable,  in
     8  the  same form as those to be voted on election day, if any, except that
     9  ballots shall have the words "Absentee Ballot",  endorsed  thereon.  The
    10  provisions of the election law regarding absentee ballots not inconsist-
    11  ent with this subdivision shall apply to such ballots so far as the same
    12  are practicable.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
