       AN  ACT  in  relation  to  the  establishment  of  public utility visual
         improvement districts in the town of Southampton, county of Suffolk
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, rule or regu-
    2  lation, the term "improvement district" as defined in section  209-a  of
    3  the town law, shall include a public utility visual improvement district
    4  in the town of Southampton in the county of Suffolk, in order to finance
    5  the  burial  of  the  construction of new transmission lines of the Long
    6  Island power authority within such town.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
