       AN ACT to amend chapter 480 of the laws of 2013, amending  the  domestic
         relations  law  and  other  laws  relating  to  the scope of orders of
         protection and temporary orders of protection, in relation to adding a
         severability clause
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Chapter  480  of  the laws of 2013, amending the domestic
    2  relations law and  other  laws  relating  to  the  scope  of  orders  of
    3  protection  and  temporary  orders of protection, is amended by adding a
    4  new section 13-a to read as follows:
    5    S 13-A.  SEVERABILITY. IF ANY CLAUSE, SENTENCE, PARAGRAPH, SECTION  OR
    6  PART  OF  THIS ACT SHALL BE ADJUDGED BY ANY COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDIC-
    7  TION TO BE INVALID AND AFTER EXHAUSTION OF ALL FURTHER JUDICIAL  REVIEW,
    8  THE JUDGMENT SHALL NOT AFFECT, IMPAIR OR INVALIDATE THE REMAINDER THERE-
    9  OF,  BUT  SHALL  BE  CONFINED  IN ITS OPERATION TO THE CLAUSE, SENTENCE,
   10  PARAGRAPH, SECTION OR PART OF THIS ACT DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THE  CONTRO-
   11  VERSY IN WHICH THE JUDGMENT SHALL HAVE BEEN RENDERED.
   12    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
