       AN ACT in relation to exempting volunteer fire departments and companies
         from the payment of tolls
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,
    2  the payment of tolls on any highway, bridge, tunnel or other  toll  road
    3  within  this state shall not apply to a duly incorporated volunteer fire
    4  department or fire company while such vehicle is responding to an  emer-
    5  gency or providing volunteer fire department or fire company services.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
