Summary

This legislation is intended to reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions as well as make energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements more affordable to homeowners and businesses within the town of Southampton. Accordingly, it authorizes the town of Southampton to offer sustainable energy loans to help homeowners and businesses within the town finance the installation of distributed generation renewable energy sources (energy that is generated close to the point of use) and/or energy efficiency improvements.
