SYNOPSIS

     Requires Commissioner of Health to review impact of disabilities on persons in minority and underrepresented communities.

An Act concerning the treatment of persons with disabilities in underrepresented communities.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.  The Commissioner of Health, in consultation with the Commissioner of Human Services, shall undertake a review of the impact of disabilities upon persons in minority and underrepresented communities, and shall report any findings and recommendations directly to the Governor, and the Legislature pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1991, c.164 (C.52:14-19.1), no later than twelve months from the effective date of this act.

 

     2.  This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill would require the Commissioner of Health, in consultation with the Commissioner of Human Services, to undertake a review of the impact of disabilities upon persons in minority and underrepresented communities.  The Commissioner would produce findings and recommendations to be reported to the Governor, and to the Legislature.
