METHODOLOGY:
This bill repeals the prohibition on the retail sales of bottle rockets, which has been in place since 2004. This may result in increased use of bottle rockets and may result in fires and/or injuries that may be investigated by the Department of Safety’s Division of Fire Safety, as well as state, county, and local law enforcement agencies. Any potential increase in cost cannot be determined. While the state collects no revenue relative to bottle rockets, certain municipalities currently with firework ban ordinances may see a decrease in related fine revenue.
