A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to require the department of transportation to name and designate all portions of u.S. highway 17 that pass through the State of North Carolina as the U.S. Marine Corps highway.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. The Department of Transportation shall designate and name all portions of U.S. Highway 17 that pass through the State of North Carolina as the U.S. Marine Corps Highway. Of funds appropriated to the Department of Transportation, the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) shall be allocated to develop and erect signage naming and designating U.S. Highway 17 as the U.S. Marine Corps Highway.
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
