A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for intensive family preservation services.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Social Services, the sum of six million six hundred thirty‑two thousand five hundred forty‑four dollars ($6,632,544) for the 2017‑2018 fiscal year and the sum of six million six hundred thirty‑two thousand five hundred forty‑four dollars ($6,632,544) for the 2018‑2019 fiscal year to continue funding for the Intensive Family Preservation Services program, an intervention program that assists families whose children are at imminent risk of removal with the goal of preventing placement in foster care. Funds appropriated pursuant to this section shall be used in accordance with the criteria set forth in Section 12C.2 of S.L. 2015‑241.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2017.
