A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the board of governors of the university of north carolina to recruit and retain outstanding faculty at each of the constituent institutions.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) for the 2012‑2013 fiscal year to be allocated to the Faculty Recruitment and Retention Fund to be used to recruit and retain outstanding faculty at each of the constituent institutions.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2012.
