WHEREAS, The games take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to play.  The games are four 12-minute quarters like high school football, but with a running clock.  The final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters are the only points where the clock is stopped; and

WHEREAS, the NIRSA Tournament began in 1979 in New Orleans, hosted then by the University of New Orleans.  It has annually been staged around the National Title Bowl Games, or in this case, the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Tampa; and

WHEREAS, the 2017 Mississippi State Flag Football Co-REC Intramural Flag Football Team Members are:  Kymesha Andrews, Team Captain; Antonio Andrews, Team Co-Captain; Devron Cheaton; Zach Cooley; Bethany Jones; Nick Jones; Zierra Long; India Overtree; Jeffery Pate; Jordan Parker; Davis Parker; Jim Myron Ross and Haley Sbravati; and

WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we commend these Mississippi State University student athletes who have brought honor to their university, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize the success of the Mississippi State University CO-REC Intramural Flag Football Team called the "Foot Clan," and extend our best wishes to these student athletes for continued success.
