WHEREAS, "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens," and as such, the Immaculate author and finisher of our soul's destiny, has summoned the mortal presence of our dearly beloved, Patrick Lewis Arrington, to eternal rest as he departed this earthly life on March 18, 2012, at the age of 51, causing great sorrow and loss to his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, as one of eight children, Mr. Arrington was born on June 19, 1965, to R.C. and Rosie Mae McDonald Arrington, who raised him on the tenets and precepts of selfless servanthood which led him to join Silver Spree United Methodist Church at a young age, where he remained dutifully active in his church and Christian faith, as a member of the United Methodist Men fellowship group, and he was a member of the church choir and sang with the Men of Voices group; and
WHEREAS, after graduating from Quitman High School in 1983, where he was an involved athlete as a member of the school's basketball, football and track teams, Mr. Arrington joined the United States Navy, again building on the principles of selflessness instilled by his parents for the service of all mankind, and served as an electronic warfare technician and supervisor until 1991; and
WHEREAS, upon returning home after his time in the Navy, Mr. Arrington was gainfully employed by different entities around the Laurel, Mississippi, area, including: Thermo Kool; Howard Industries; the City of Laurel; and the Town of Heidelberg, Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Arrington was an active member of numerous civic organizations, such as the Heidelberg Brotherhood Club, Gibraltar Lodge #471, American Legion Post 210 and the Brothers of Cheerful Giving; and

WHEREAS, in Mr. Arrington's transformation from mortality to immortality, he now adorns the raiment of a spiritual host dressed in white, as he joins the league of chariot's escorts, as it is written in the Book of Revelation 21:1-7, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and He shall be my Son."; and
WHEREAS, one who found profound inspiration in music, as evidenced by his participation in the church choir and the Men of Voices, Mr. Arrington's earthly departure can be summarized in the joyful lyrics to Thomas on Chisolm and William Runyan's "Great is Thy Faithfulness":

There is no shadow of turning with thee,
Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not,
As thou has been, thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!"; and
