House Resolution 100

A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE 2011 RETIREES OF THE GREENWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THEIR NUMEROUS YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND EXTENDING BEST WISHES UPON THEIR RETIREMENT.

     WHEREAS, a number of treasured employees will retire from the Greenwood Public School District at the end of the 2010-2011 school year; and

     WHEREAS, the departure of many honored educators, such as Donna Pittman and Mildred Wortham, will be greatly felt within their respective schools; and

     WHEREAS, these educators have been responsible for training and grooming generations of doctors, lawyers, nurses, politicians, teachers, leaders and role models who have positively impacted our great state; and

     WHEREAS, over the years, they have groomed students to face challenges with victory; and

     WHEREAS, the exit of other valued employees, Dorsey Collins, custodian; and Dorothy Ann Kyle, bookkeeper/payroll, will also leave a void in the district; and

     WHEREAS, these priceless individuals have also greatly contributed to the success of the Greenwood School District and will be sorely missed by the schools in which they served; and

     WHEREAS, through tireless dedication and loving patience these retirees have made Mississippi a greater state by educating our children to become productive, God-fearing, responsible citizens and ensuring that the school district as a whole is operating successfully; and

     WHEREAS, the citizens of this fine state owe an immeasurable debt to the retired employees of the Greenwood Public School District as they move to the lighter days of their awaited retirement; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend excellence of those who have spent years educating the students of this great state and ensuring that its schools operate effectively:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby congratulate the 2011 retirees of the Greenwood Public School District for numerous years of dedicated service and extend best wishes upon their retirement.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Dorsey Collins, Dorothy Ann Kyle, Donna Pittman, Mildred Wortham and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
