A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL BRUINS BOYS SOCCER TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 2010-2011 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE CLASS 1A/2A/3A CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Catholic High School Bruins Boys Soccer Team finished the 2010-2011 season with their seventh state title in the last ten years; and

WHEREAS, the Bruins did very well in the state playoffs this year, winning the Class 1A/2A/3A State Championship with a 1-0 shutout victory over Sacred Heart; and

WHEREAS, the St. Joseph Bruins 2010-2011 team is comprised of the following players: Brooks Reames, Mathew Gieb, Bob Pooley, Alex Cosmich, Walker Foggo, Ethan Schuetzle, Ryan Crand, Blayne Jones, James Coleman, Griffin Kennington, Nathan Gieb, William Featherson, Zahir Bracey, E.J. Martin, Travis Crabtree, Miles Engle, Sam Miller, Eduardo Zuniga, Josh Speyerer, Jonathan Maloney, Trey Orsborn, Eric Diamond, Thomas Hinds, David Lemoine and Sumner May; and

WHEREAS, the Bruins have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Dwayne Demmin and Assistant Coach David Wissell, who have broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the Bruins have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coaches and bring honor to St. Joseph Catholic High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the St. Joseph Catholic High School Bruins Boys Soccer Team and their coaches, Head Coach Dwayne Demmin and Assistant Coach David Wissell, for their outstanding 2010-2011 season, for winning the Class 1A/2A/3A State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to St. Joseph Catholic High School, Head Coach Dwayne Demmin, Assistant Coach David Wissell and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
