AN ACT TO CREATE A NEW SECTION OF LAW TO REQUIRE THE COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ESTABLISH AN ALTERNATIVE STATE IDENTIFICATION CARD THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE PROOF OF DOMICILE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING A STATE IDENTIFICATION CARD AVAILABLE FOR PERSONS WHO DO NOT HAVE A DOMICILE TO LIST; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Not later than June 30, 2021, the Commissioner of Public Safety shall establish an alternative state identification card that shall operate in every respect like the state identification cards issued under Section 45-35-7, except that this card shall not require proof of domicile for the purpose of making a state identification card available for persons who do not have a domicile to list.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
