House Bill 656
AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN A TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICE IS NOT PROVIDING A SIGNAL, DRIVERS OF VEHICLES SHALL PROCEED AT AN INTERSECTION SUBJECT TO THE RULES APPLICABLE AFTER MAKING A STOP AT A STOP SIGN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Whenever traffic is controlled by a traffic-control device that provides signals as described in Sections 63-3-309 or 63-3-311, and the traffic-control device does not provide a signal, drivers of vehicles shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at an intersection or at a limit line when marked and the right to proceed shall be subject to the rules applicable after making a stop at a stop sign.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
