AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT BEGINNING WITH FISCAL YEAR 2024, AND FOR EACH FISCAL YEAR THEREAFTER THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 2033, THE AMOUNT OF THE GENERAL FUND AND/OR STATE SUPPORT SPECIAL FUNDS APPROPRIATIONS TO STATE AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS SHALL BE REDUCED BY TWO AND ONE-HALF PERCENT LESS THAN THE AMOUNT OF SUCH FUNDS APPROPRIATED FOR THOSE AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS FOR THE PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. It is the intention of the Legislature that beginning with fiscal year 2024, and for each fiscal year thereafter, the amount of the General Fund and/or state support special funds appropriations to state agencies and departments shall be reduced as follows:
(a) For fiscal year 2024, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2023;
(b) For fiscal year 2025, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2024;
(c) For fiscal year 2026, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2025;
(d) For fiscal year 2027, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2026;
(e) For fiscal year 2028, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2027;
(f) For fiscal year 2029, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2028;
(g) For fiscal year 2030, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2029;
(h) For fiscal year 2031, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2030;
(i) For fiscal year 2032, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2031; and
(j) For fiscal year 2033, the amount of such funds appropriated for all state agencies and departments shall be two and one-half percent (2.5%) less than the amount of such funds appropriated for those agencies and departments for fiscal year 2032.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2022.
