House Bill 28

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 43-1-13, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THAT NO COMMISSIONER OR ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE OF THE STATE OR COUNTY WELFARE DEPARTMENTS SHALL TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN ANY PARTISAN POLITICAL CAMPAIGN; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 43-1-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides that no commissioner or any other employee of the state or county welfare departments shall take an active part in any partisan political campaign, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2024.
