House Bill 1478
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR, THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OR ANY MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OR THE SENATE TO RETAIN HIS OR HER OFFICE CHAIR AT THE TIME OF LEAVING THAT OFFICE IF THE PERSON SERVED FOR AT LEAST FOUR YEARS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Governor, the Lieutenant Governor or any member of the House of Representatives or the Senate, at the time the person leaves that office, is authorized to retain, as his or her personal property, the chair that the person used at the desk in his or her office or in the House or Senate chamber, as the case may be, if the person served in that office for at least four (4) years.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2010.
