House Bill 1228
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE LEGISLATORS TO CARRY CERTAIN PERSONAL ITEMS INTO A COURTROOM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Members of the Legislature shall be authorized to carry personal belongings such as a briefcase, purse or any other personal item which attorneys and expert witnesses are allowed into any state, chancery, circuit, justice or municipal courtroom in the state during court proceedings.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2013.
