AN ACT TO NAME THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY'S GULF COAST REGIONAL FORENSICS LABORATORY, LOCATED IN BILOXI, HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, THE "GARY T. HARGROVE MEMORIAL FORENSICS LABORATORY"; TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ERECT THE PROPER LETTERING OR SIGNAGE ON THE OUTDOOR FACADE OF THE BUILDING DISPLAYING THE OFFICIAL NAME AS THE "GARY T. HARGROVE MEMORIAL FORENSICS LABORATORY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety's Gulf Coast Regional Forensics Laboratory, located at 16743 Mississippi Highway 67 in Biloxi, Harrison County, Mississippi, shall be named the "Gary T. Hargrove Memorial Forensics Laboratory." The Department of Finance and Administration shall prepare or have prepared a distinctive plaque, to be placed in a prominent place within the building, that states the background, accomplishments and service to the state of Mr. Gary T. Hargrove. The Department of Finance and Administration in conjunction with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety shall erect or cause to be erected proper lettering or signage on the outdoor facade of the building facing Highway 67 displaying the official name of the building as the "Gary T. Hargrove Memorial Forensics Laboratory." Any and all funds necessary to accomplish this act will be appropriated by the Legislature for such purpose.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2021.
