Summary

An Act To Amend Section 65-4-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Definition Of The Term "high Economic Benefit Project" Under The Economic Development Highway Act; To Amend Section 64-5-25, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Increase By $98,000,000.00 The Amount Of Bonds Authorized To Be Issued Under The Economic Development Highway Act; To Authorize The Issuance Of State General Obligation Bonds In The Amount Of $180,000,000.00 To Provide Additional Funds For Use By The Mississippi Transportation Commission And The Mississippi Department Of Transportation For The Replacement Or Rehabilitation Of Certain Bridges On State Maintained Highways That Are Deficient Or Functionally Obsolete, For The Construction And Reconstruction Of Certain State Highway Projects And To Improve Access To Camp Shelby, And To Provide Additional Funds For The State Aid Road Fund In The State Treasury; To Authorize The Issuance Of $20,000,000.00 In State General Obligation Bonds To Provide Funds For The Local System Bridge Replacement And Rehabilitation Program; To Amend Section 65-37-13, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; To Amend Section 17-25-17, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Extend Until September 15, 2010, The Time Before Which Construction Must Begin On A Certain Project In Order For The Enterprise Owning Or Leasing The Project To Be Reimbursed By Local Governments For Certain Costs; To Authorize The Mississippi Development Authority To Grant Funds To The North Central Mississippi Regional Railroad Authority To Pay A Portion Of The Costs Incurred By The Mississippi Regional Railroad Authority For The Repair, Reconstruction And Improvement Of The Existing Railroad Line From The City Of West Point, Mississippi, To Greenwood, Mississippi; To Authorize The Issuance Of State General Obligation Bonds In The Amount Of $15,000,000.00 To Provide Funds For Such Grants; To Amend Section 2, Chapter 497, Laws Of 2009, To Reduce The Amount Of Bonds Authorized To Be Issued For Certain Rail Projects; And For Related Purposes.
