Summary

An Act To Amend Section 31-3-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize The State Board Of Contractors, Through Rule Or Regulation, To Establish The Threshold Amounts For Licensure Whereby Any Contract, Subcontract Or Undertaking Is Deemed Hazardous Or High Risk To Public Safety; To Amend Section 31-3-13, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize The State Board Of Contractors To Require Any Contractor Who Is Licensed By The Board To Provide A Surety Bond In An Amount Determined To Be Sufficient To Cover Any Construction Projects Throughout The State; To Amend Section 17-25-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Every Municipality And County Of The State Of Mississippi To Grant Competency Examination Reciprocity To Any Contractor Who Is A Holder Of A Certificate Of Responsibility Issued By The State Board Of Contractors; To Amend Section 73-59-19, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Certain Licensed Residential Builders And Remodelers Performing Commercial Construction To Identify His Subcontractors On The Project; To Bring Forward Sections 31-3-21 And 27-7-701, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For Purpose Of Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
