Summary

An Act To Create New Section 25-13-37, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Establish The Mississippi Highway Patrol Retirement Health Insurance Benefit Program; To Provide That All Retired Members Of The Mississippi Highway Patrol Who Have Not Yet Reached A Certain Age Are Entitled To A Monthly Payment From The State Of Mississippi For The Purpose Of Offsetting Health Insurance Costs For Those Members; To Provide That The Payments Shall Cease Once The Retiree Reaches A Certain Age; To Provide That Payments Under This Section Shall Not Be Considered As Income By The Department Of Revenue For The Purposes Of Collecting The Individual Income Tax; To Amend Section 27-7-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform; And For Related Purposes.
