Summary
An Act To Require Adult Applicants For Public Benefits In Mississippi To Submit To Drug-screening And Testing In Order To Be Eligible; To Provide That Any Such Person Whose Test Results Are Positive Regarding The Presence Of Any Unlawful Drug In The Person's System Shall Be Ineligible To Receive Public Assistance For A Period Of Time Based On The Number Of Positive Drug Tests; To Provide Procedures And Exceptions For Such Drug-screening Or Testing; To Provide Criminal Penalties For Willful Violations Of Drug-screening And Testing Requirements; To Make It Unlawful For Any State Agency To Provide Any Public Benefit In Violation Of Drug-screening And Testing Requirements; To Amend Sections 43-13-115, 43-17-1, 71-5-511 And 43-33-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Specifically Require The Division Of Medicaid, The Department Of Human Services, The Office Of Employment Security And The Mississippi Housing Authorities To Require Applicants Of Public Assistance Programs To Submit To Drug-screening And Testing As Required Under This Act; And For Related Purposes.
