Summary

An Act To Amend Section 41-21-201, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Conditions Tested For In The Comprehensive Newborn Screening Program To Include Those Conditions That Are Listed On The Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (rusp); To Require The State Board Of Health To Ensure That Each Condition Listed On The Rusp Is Included In The Newborn Screening Program Within Three Years After Being Added To The Rusp; To Provide That If The Department Does Not Include A Rusp-listed Condition In The Newborn Screening Program Within Three Years, The Department Shall Provide A Report On The Status And Reasons For The Delay To The House And Senate Public Health Committees Once A Year After The Three-year Period; To Amend Section 41-21-203, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
