Summary
An Act To Require The Board Of Trustees Of State Institutions Of Higher Learning To Immediately Begin A Comprehensive Study Of Hotel And Restaurant Management Degree Programs At Jackson State University; To Authorize The Board To Promulgate Rules And Regulations For The Implementation And Administration Of Such Program; To Authorize The Board To Enter Into Contracts With Nationally Franchised Hotel Establishments For The Construction And Operation Of A Functional Hotel On The University Campus To Serve As A Business Laboratory For Students Enrolled In The Program Under The Supervision Of The Owners Of The Hotel Establishment; To Provide That Jackson State University Shall Be The Inaugural Program Of The Hotel And Restaurant Management Program, And Shall Be The Only State Institution Of Higher Learning To Provide Such Degree Program For A Period Of Four Years Before The Board Expands The Offering Of Such Courses Of Study To The Remaining State Institutions Of Higher Learning; And For Related Purposes.
