Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-13-134, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require That Student Wellness Shall Be Included As An Individual Educational Component Of School Districts' Curriculum In The Public Schools Of This State; To Allow School Boards To Review And Certify National Health And Wellness Programs And Solicit Free Literature From Various Nationally Recognized Programs That Is Most Age And Grade Appropriate For The School District's Needs; To Require Individuals Employed By School Districts To Provide Instruction Of Student Wellness To Be Certified In Any Area Of Health And Wellness And To Present Proof Of Certification To The Board At Time Of Employment; To Exempt That Individual From The Certification Requirements Of Section 37-3-2; To Amend Section 37-3-2, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Provisions Of This Act; To Bring Forward Sections 37-13-131, 37-13-133, 37-13-135 And 37-161-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For The Purpose Of Possible Amendments; And For Related Purposes.
