Summary
An Act To Amend Sections 37-13-5 And 37-13-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The State Department Of Education To Withhold Adequate Education Program Funds From School Districts Failing To Properly Display The National And State Flags Or Lead Students In The Pledge Of Allegiance To The United States Flag; To Amend Section 37-13-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Delete Provisions Relating To The Recitation Of The Pledge Of Allegiance That Are Contradictory To Subsequently Enacted Requirements; To Amend Section 3-3-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Public Colleges And Universities To Display The Official State Flag On Monday Through Friday Of Each Week On Each Campus Of The Public College Or University; To Require That If A Public College Or University Is Not Displaying The Official State Flag As Required By This Section, The Attorney General Shall Notify The Public College Or University Of The Noncompliance, And The State Fiscal Officer Shall Withhold The Payment Of All State Funds To The Public College Or University Until Such Time As It Is In Compliance With The Requirements Of This Section; And For Related Purposes.
