AN ACT

To amend chapter 226, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to highway safety.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 226, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 226.1275, to read as follows:

            226.1275. The department of transportation is hereby instructed to conduct a study regarding the safety impact of putting four-foot shoulders on two-lane U.S. highways in Missouri. The study shall emphasize those highways that have historically been considered unsafe. The study shall be completed no later than January 1, 2012.
