AN ACT

To amend chapter 105, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to election campaigns.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 105, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 105.1410, to read as follows:

            105.1410. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, no individual employed as a staff member for a member of the general assembly shall receive compensation for any services rendered as a part of a campaign for a candidate for pubic or statewide office or the passage or defeat of a ballot measure. For the purposes of this section, the term “staff member” shall mean any individual employed as a legislative assistant, chief of staff, legislative director, or any other paid position reporting to or taking direction from a member of the general assembly.
