1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Delanie Moan for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award.
1.3WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the United States of America is an organization dedicated
1.4to building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place; and
1.5WHEREAS, the highest achievement is the Girl Scout Gold Award and to earn the award,
1.6a Girl Scout must fulfill specific requirements in the areas of leadership, career exploration,
1.7and community service; and
1.8WHEREAS, being awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest honor, promoting
1.9community service which will serve the young woman throughout her life; and
1.10WHEREAS, Delanie has completed all requirements necessary to earn the Gold Award,
1.11including assisting in a project that involved working with a self-defense instructor and the
1.12Roseville Police Department to plan and hold a presentation for the 8th grade students at Parkview
1.13Center School on personal safety and awareness; and
1.14WHEREAS, Delanie Moan has attained the highest honor of scouting, the Girl Scout
1.15Gold Award; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota
1.17that it comments Delanie Moan on her dedication and congratulates her on earning the Girl
1.18Scout Gold Award.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Delanie Moan.
