1.2relating to human services; modifying medical assistance coverage to include
1.3consultations with psychologists;amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section
1.4256B.0625, subdivision 48.
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 256B.0625, subdivision 48, is amended to
1.7read:
1.8 Subd. 48. Psychiatric consultation to primary care practitioners.Effective
1.9January 1, 2006, Medical assistance covers consultation provided by a psychiatrist or
1.10psychologist via telephone, e-mail, facsimile, or other means of communication to primary
1.11care practitioners, including pediatricians. The need for consultation and the receipt of the
1.12consultation must be documented in the patient record maintained by the primary care
1.13practitioner. If the patient consents, and subject to federal limitations and data privacy
1.14provisions, the consultation may be provided without the patient present.
